Starting a high school anime club, was wondering how to convince the prinicipal that anime is educational?
I'm a freshman wanting to start an anime club, I've got support from 5-6 juniors, planning the officers, a minimum of 10 people guaranteed, with 20 potential that I know of. Anime is educational, but I can't seem to convince the principal and vice principal that having an anime club is a good idea and would expand our cultural horizons...any suggestions?

I'd stop wth the educational angle and instead go with a cultural diversiy angle. Show the principal reviews of classic films that analyze their depth and significance (Miyazaki would be especially effective).
Based on experience as a teacher and anime fan myself, I'm also guessing that the kids interested also feel alienated in the school. Play up the fact that you would be giving them a chance to feel as though they had a place in the school and had somewhere they belonged. You'd be reaching out to a group who lives on the fringes of school society.
