Is it possible for a Malaysian Chinese with a Degree of Mechenical Engineering to teach Mandarin overseas? Greetings, I am a Malaysian Chinese who would like to teach Mandarin / Chinese overseas. I possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin as I have solid Chinese-based education background. (Many people don't realize that Chinese education is not something new and rare in Malaysia and Mandarin is the common language among Malaysian Chinese.) Besides, I speak fluent English and I have some experience in teaching Mandarin / Chinese to non-native speaker of Mandarin. I consider myself a bilingual. Can I teach Chinese in any Sydney public school with my Chinese Bachelor degree of Chinese Education? After 4 year study majored in Chinese Language & Culture in the Normal University, I achieved my Bachelor degree of Education. Now I am living in Sydney. | It sounds like you would be! The DET's employment site is www.teach.nsw.edu.au. You can apply from there. They only do interviews twice a year though, so you might have to wait a while. If you want to check, call 1300 300 498 - the DET's staffing unit is actually one of the best sources of information I've found. If you got your degree overseas, you might need to get an Australian B. Ed, but that shouldn't be too difficult....(Answered by Dazcha) | |

Teaching chinese to Elementary Kids? Hey Guys, I need some opinions, When teaching American elementary kids on how to speak chinese in their first lesson, what would be some interesting things they could do, or rather, the teacher should prepare? Which part of Chinese culture or art interest you? My husband is an art teacher.(1-12 grades) I teach his students about Chinese characters and writing in class. Which part of Chinese culture or art you think it's good to learn? (word, writing, language, art, tea, manner...) | Generally in Europe, South America, Mexico, Brazil, and the United States you will need the teachers certificate. University will provide you with all details. Different per elementary, junior and senior high schools. Colleges are looking for good chinese teaching also. Ordinarily I would say my own office United Nations skill instructors would be of help, although the United States is not the best options. Europe and Brazil are the stronger concerts.
