| You can put your own curriculum together if you would like from the library. I myself find investing in materials is well worth it! You can put together different curriculum's using a variety of resources. For example, I use Abeka for basic grammar, Saxon( this year) for Math. Apologia for science, and we have a co-op we are in that covers things like art, public speaking, History and another science class for enrichment. I can't say any of it is free, but I am pretty frugal about getting my resources. Check for used curriculum sales and on eBay. You really ...(Answered by Melissa C) | |

| The name alone sounds dubious. Sounds new age with diversity training, conflict resolution, Self esteem, no homework, everyone is an honor student, etc. Remember all schools say they are the best but the test scores reveal the truth. I would check the schools test scores. How many students actually passed the "state minimum" or how did they do on the Stanford. If you can`t find the scores ask for them. www.greatschools.net can get you these scores. No Child Left Behind has scores too. They are there to help you decide if your school is actually providing an education. Frankly I would get her in ...(Answered by stephen s) | |

| I have two students enrolled with Connections Academy. I know that this year they are adding Indiana and Nevada. But they are always open to looking in to a new state, if there is enough interest. You should go to their site and request more info to be mailed to you and even call them Monday morning and talk to someone in enrollment. They are all every nice people, and who knows it might just be what they need to start a pilot school in your state. Every new state starts off as a pilot school, I think Texas, & Georgia, ...(Answered by homeschool_girlscouts) | |

| I have two children enrolled with Connections Academy. I think it is a great program for students working at different levels in different subjects. They and you can help her bring her math skills up while use advanced reading level so that she doesn't get bored in reading. My oldest daughter skipped a grade level when enrolling with CA. And my son is on his way in completing a second grade level of math this school year. (He is in kindergarten almost done with 1st grade math) We have been doing Ohio CA for two years now, my kids ...(Answered by homeschool_girlscouts) | |

| I have two children in Connections Academy. My dd has been in it for two years now (3rd & 4th) my ds is in kindergarten and doing some first grade work. My kids love it. And so do I. They get to work at there own pace and there is now pressure. If you understand you can move faster and finish up one grade and start the next grade all in one year. Also if you do not understand you can take your time and they present the info in many different ways, ie textbook, workbook, cdrom, live lessons. ...(Answered by homeschool_girlscouts) | |

| It sounds like there are no virtual charter schools (which are public schools) in CT. Help!......? Answer all of this and I will be ETERNALLY greatful! Back in the 1870's, a trip around the world in a span of less than three months was almost unheard of. Today, it wouldn't be any big deal, especially if one traveled by plane. Consider that Fogg could have chosen to travel in an air balloon. Why do you think he didn't do this? How much time do you think a trip such as Fogg's would take today if you only used surface transportation? Plan a journey around the world that would begin and end at the same place (it doesn't ... | I won't write your essay for you, but I will give you some advice: 1. State clearly what the question is about in the subject line. 2. State clearly what you're really talking about in the question itself. I *think* you're talking about Jules Verne's "Around the World in Eighty Days"? | Before deciding on a program, examine WHY the previous program didn't work and if that's what you really need. Sometimes full-scale programs can be very difficult for families and it works better for them if they just work to meet local standards for LA and math, being more relaxed or child-interest-directed in other areas. Have you considered not going with a program? For free programs, contact your district school or check with http://www.k-12.com...(Answered by glurpy) | |

| That's what we were told when we went to an info session for K12 that if your children had been home schooling or attending private school the previous year, you can't do K12 unless they are entering Kindergarten so that sounds accurate to me. They have to be entered into public school the previous year, so you would have to place them into public school it sounded like to me (which I was not going to do)....(Answered by Karen) | |
