My son with autism (i think). He hate school..? He is 5 next year. We spied on him (with teachers permission) and we can see that he is bored with ABC and colouring. And this gives the teacher headache cos he'll run out of the classroom whenever he heard something interesting. By 3+ he can spelled many words and recognise numbers to thousands and doing simple maths by 4. One teacher even hint that remain in 4yo class might suit him well cos there's a teacher there who can 'control' him. Imagine after 2 years there they still expect him to learn ABC and counting to ten. He has ... (Asked by Confused) |

Since you mentioned that there is a teacher that can "control" him, maybe it would be an option for him to stay in her class as they have suggested but instead of doing the same work as that class if he is not on their grade level, perhaps the teacher could let him do work that he is able to do. By doing it this way, your son may stay on task better and enjoy school. I believe he is getting bored....(Answered by LYNN W) | |

| Children typically develop the ability to count right around age 4 because numbers are an abstract concept that we have made up, so it is not completely natural. So first off, don't panic if she hasn't learned them yet. She's at just the right age. Second, focus on once concept at a time. For example, focus on learning the symbols for 1, 2, and 3. Once it seems like she has those down, move on to 4, 5, and 6. When she has those down, put 1-6 together, and so on. On the other side, focus on counting using one to ...(Answered by Debi) | |

| My daughter is 2 1/2 and knows most of her colors but sometimes she just doesn't feel like it and calls everything green for a couple days (her fave color). Try and make it more fun like when you're grocery shopping the banana is yellow, the orange is...well orange, the lettuce is green etc. I just constantly talked about colors to her (which I think is one reason she tunes me out when she gets tired of it lol) Try making it a part of your day and not a stress related thing where you quiz him.
