1. you make their day interesting. 2. you help them forget their loneliness. 3. you improve your reading skills plus vocabulary too. 4. you make a difference in their life and yours as well. 5. you are sharing your time for good cause. keep it up, the reward is uplifting.. if you are thinking about it, go for it. you will enjoy it and just remember, they are there 24 hours and no one visit them, some of their family distance themselves from their own folks.it is sad that is why volunteering your time to read to the elderly is one best gesture to uplift ...(Answered by salome)

Children will learn by emulating adults. Have a discussion on the importance of caring for our elderly and research the different customs that different cultures have. After you've learned by discussion and researching together, take them to visit the elderly at a nursing home. Talk with the director about having some type of project that the kids can do with or for them....(Answered by ~Magic Me~)

I think that basic Spanish you would catch on really easily, and remember it. But it depends if you can still understand a conversation or read. You can take courses at a community college to help you. Portuguese was my 1st language when I was little and I can't speak it now at all, but I read pretty well and understand. I am taking advanced classes and it is really hard for me. It depends how you practice though. My parents talk to me in Portuguese and I speak back in English, it helped my parents with english but I ...(Answered by Christine)

Who and where is Jane Hunt, a homeless elderly woman?
She is of slight build, in her 70's and was a teacher in Ukiah, and Compton, CA; and overseas in Morrocco for American dependents. Last seen in Bakersfield, Ca, in January 2007. She is in her seventies, dragging a suitcase half her size, once was a teacher, the state took her home, so she is homeless and won't stay in a shelter.
