SAT-critical reading..........HELP!!!!!? I am terrible at critical reading....i could only manage a 200-300 on the practice tests i have taken. Even though i get a 650-700 in writing and around a 700 in maths. I find the critical reading totally based on personnal opinions of the examiner.....i find the explanations given for the answers totally stupid. Vocabulary is the prob and I am workin on it....but I dont even get the passages.. Please help me...SAT's on may 5. Sometimes on the critical reading, there are two answers that you could argue for. On those, you have to look at which one has specific support from the passage. Remember not to guess unless you can narrow down the answer choices to two or three because you get penalized for wrong answers. I would suggest reading the questions before you read the passage so you know what things you are looking for. Then when you are ready to start answering, cover up the answer choices until you come up with your own answer. Then see which answer ...(Answered by DLM)

ielts speaking test? A recent question about the test was answered incorrectly. 1. The examiner will let you keep the topic card while you give your answer in phase 2 of the speaking test, and you will have 1 minute to prepare before you have to start. 2. Is it true that UK driving test examiners have to fail a certain proportion of candidates every day? And is it to increase revenues from driving test fees? Is it arbitrary or do they choose certain random attributes like "everyone with brown eyes wearing trousers"? You can't just say "that's rubbish" - please back up your answers with some evidence. ... GCSE french query? What is the point of having to learn your speaking topics for the GCSE french speaking test? How does it prove that you know how to speak french, when it is the same as somthing you have written down beforehand ? And you are more likely to make mistakes because if you forget somthing you have written down, the examiner thinks you do not know that part of french, and marks you down, but you have written it down already yoursellf, but could not remember it. ... This is probably more about not making the examiner look stupid, by giving topics the examiners can prepare themselves and know what to expect. There is less chance of coming across things they don't understand themselves....(Answered by Elle Dee)
