I would interpret 'fair' in this context to mean 'a reasonable amount', but that the business not necessarily doing wonderfully well. Yard in this context means an open area, although a boat yard will have sheds etc. on it and is used for repairing and maybe constructing boats....(Answered by rdenig_male)

Depends on context. OK is can be used informally to describe "approval" eg OK to enter. Acceptable , but not necessarily outstanding. Fair can be used to describe performance or suitability. Eg. fair to middlin' means fair to middling; old english for middle so yes, fair to good health if the phrase is used in response to a question about health, could be applied in other circumstances eg. how is the weather? how does the car run? etc....(Answered by soobee)
