| Polymer is a term used to describe large molecules consisting of repeating structural units, or monomers, connected by covalent chemical bonds. The term is derived from the Greek words: polys meaning many, and meros meaning parts [1]. A key feature that distinguishes polymers from other molecules is the repetition of many identical, similar, or complementary molecular subunits in these chains. These subunits, the monomers, are small molecules of low-to-moderate molecular weight, and are linked to each other during a chemical reaction called polymerization. Similar monomers can have various chemical substituents. These differences between monomers can affect properties such as solubility, flexibility, ...(Answered by maxell 15) | |

Who determined the width, depth, and contour of wooden chair bottoms? On old style wooden chairs as well as some school desk seats I used to occupy, there was a scooped out place that would fit the shape of your bottom. My question is "Whose job was it to determine the width, depth, and contour of these hollowed out places?" I believe this predated any kind of foam or gel to measure average impressions. ... | Personally I would have at least three in my house which is small. The more rooms you have the more FE you need. Here are a few tips on buying FE's. You need to make sure that you get a Class B for the oil. Class c is for electrical fires and Class A is for plastics paper and such. Class B extinguishes flammable liquids, such as gasoline, oil and grease. Check each extinguisher's number rating. The higher the number, the larger a fire the extinguisher can put out. | Root beer was originally made partially with sassafras root bark (and sarsaparilla, etc) which naturally foamed. Sassafras root bark contains safrole, which the FDA determined was a potential carcinogen and banned in the 1960s. Root beer manufacturers turned to other flavoring combinations as a substitute (sarsaparilla, ginger, juniper, wintergreen, licorice, anise, cinnamon, lemon oil, orange oil, cloves, vanilla, and artificial flavors, in various combinations.). But none of these have the same foam enhancing qualities as sassafras root bark. So other surfactants were added, including an extract from the yucca plant. The particular brands of root beer that foam a lot do so ...(Answered by Kate) | |
