| The short answer is yes. But I am sure there are conditions about maintaining a certain GPA during those four years. This site has a lot of information about the program, and a toll-free number to call for any further questions you may have. http://www.firn.edu/doe/brfutures/fasrequire.htm...(Answered by refugiotrans) | |

| For the Bright Futures scholarship, yes, you need to be a citizen or an "eligible non-citizen" which almost always means a permanent resident or asylee. For "any other scholarships"? Not necessarily. There are plenty of scholarships out there that are open to non-citizens/international students -- you just need to do a little extra research into the eligibility requirements of each scholarship that interests you. I lost my scholarship due to low grades, I have a disability, how do I get it back? First, let me note I will give the best answer the points they deserve. Here is my problem. I currently go to school in Florida, and I received the Bright Futures Scholarship. It paid 75% of my tuition. I lost it due to some low grades, mainly in my computer based classes. Now I just got diagnosed with ADD predominantly preattentative type. I just have a hard time concentrating. The computer based classes were hard for me, because would end up surfing the web, instead of doing my work online. I would also easily forget about test dates, and assignments. My question ... | maybe if you write to Bright Future Scholarship explaining that you are diagnosed with ADD. That ADD is the reason why your grades, specifically in computer class, had fallen. You need to prove that you have ADD, therefore you need a note from the doctor to back up your explanation. You have to persuade them. Explain to them that your GPA only has fallen .2 from what is required, that you are not drastically failing - exactly what you have said. Also, and importantly, that since you have been taking proper treatment, your grades are ...(Answered by formula350) | |

| You can't.. it's meant specifically for Florida Colleges/Universities... It sucks but that's the catch... think about it... if they offered it transferable out of state then Florida would have a massive influx of students coming in, gaining residency, getting the money and then leaving the state... Get with your guidance counselor.... or better yet call Penn States office of student affairs and ask them about scholarship opportunities.. they should have a list... also start looking on the internet... Good luck!...(Answered by Heather) | |
