Q.
How can I get back the 50 dollars that someone owes?
I am 16 years old and I loaned a kid around 50 dollars, and I need that money back, but he won't pay it. Please help me out in order to get back that money. I know where the kid lives, except that he knows where I live also. If I were to do anything too serious, he would probably know that it was me, and although this doesn't really even matter, whatever I do to him or his property, he may be able to get back at me. I am willing to hear any solution, ... (Asked by Ryan The Great)

Based on the information you provided, it sounds to me like you are smart enough to know that violence isn't going to get your $50 back. Beating him up or damaging his property will probably just make the situation worse (and unless he's an adult, he won't be financially responsible for damages anyway). Is he not paying back the loan because he doesn't HAVE the money, or he just doesn't WANT to pay it back? I don't see how you could possibly get the money from him (legally and non-violently) without getting parents involved. You might ...(Answered by necessaryevils66)

What do you spend your financial aid on?

Q.
How can we prevent universities from rescinding merit-based scholarships and replacing with need-based ones?
Let me start of by saying that my parents are rather wealthy and when I applied for my school I was provided a substantial scholarship due to my high SAT score and high college GPA. However, now my college wants to provide these scholarships on a need-based basis. This seems rather unfair since I don't want to be going to college with a bunch of inner city ghetto kids. This will obviously ruin the future of higher education. If kids can't go to college just because their parents are rich, how are we going to balance this with kids who are ... Wow, first off cut back on the snob. Thanks. And wont it help americia if instead of forcing some one with less money to stay in a lower class because they cant go to college? It will just force apart the classes and they already lessening middle class will be gone for ever. And you dont go to college "just because your parents are rich" you go to college because YOU"RE SMART! And are you saying that you cant have "inner city ghetto kids' at your college as you call them? Not everyone who needs a scholarship fits into ...(Answered by who wants to know?)

Illegal Immigrants will now get more?
...in California they want to give financial aid to illegals, as well as some of the limited number of seats available in our universities. That means less money and space for people who are legally. And, whats more, California lives in dream world where they don't really concern themselves with the reality of paying for this. CA is broke. How do you like this? And how will you feel when our Fed has to bail them out again with our tax $? ...Oscar, the point is there is not enough money or seats to pay for anyone who suffles accross the boarder. ... They should get nada NOTHING!!!!! They do not belong here if they are illegal. The only thing they should get is a trip back where ever they came from or a hot to the head to make an example out of them. They are already taking everything else away from legal people Jobs, gvt. assistance etc. They have no rights in this country unless they get legal. I agree that is not fair and Ca is allowing illegals to come here, and pay for education for people who do not belong here. With all the illegals here ...(Answered by PADMAE)

Q.
Should I keep leaving illegaly in the US?
Hello There. I am an Italian student living in CA for the past year. I am currently working and earning $4000 after taxes. This helps me a lot to cover for my tuition that are $90000 for 4 years because my parents cannot follow; it is too expensive. However, a student under a F1 visa is only allowed to work for one year thus making me already illegal albeit my visa is still valid. Working is the only way I will cover those astronomical tuitions costs and have my American Dream. My employers know nothing about it and all is ... (Asked by le fou)

I am sure I speak for everyone when I say that you should not keep living illegally. That is not only unethical but also risky. "Do you believe I should keep working or stop and be honest?" Yes you should stop working. By doing that you are being honest and keeping things legal. Try getting your Visa renewed or plan on getting a Greencard. I do not know exactly what your case is requiring but find a way or option to fix your problem. I believe the solution to your problem would be to obtain some kind of Visa or Greencard (whichever ...(Answered by iluvrain)

FAFSA form - what if your parents refuse to fill it out (perhaps doing something illegal with their taxes)?
I have a friend in this situation, how does she go about getting financial aid - I've heard that she has to consider her parents income until she is old enough to be considered an independent student, but her parent won't fill out the FAFSA form. she is single, and 18 years old. Here are the ONLY ways you can be considered independent: You must be married, a ward of the court, over 24 years old, a military Veteran, you have your own children that live with you, or yo uare working toward a master's or PhD. If you don't fall into one of those categories you won't be considered independent by FAFSA. They will make NO exceptions...trust me, I've talked to them about it for many people when I was in college admissions counseling. Individual colleges/universities may make exceptions but don't hold your breath... :( Most will just ...(Answered by eqmidnite)
