What are the ingrediants to making crystals? And how do I make them for science class? (5th grade)? My little sister needs help finding ingrediants and knowing how to make crystals for her science class. I tried looking for some, but many of them where only for meth and stuff. There are many materials that can be used for making crystals, including many substances found around the household. Salt and sugar are two excellent materials for making crystals; if you make the sugar crystals under sterile conditions, you can even eat them once they've grown. :) Rock candy is basically just crystalline sugar, but if you're clever and careful, you can grow crystals that are much more beautiful than rock candy crystals..
