Did you believe that any of these things were true? 1) Rice will not kill birds. It won't make them explode. Rice is a natural grain/seed just like corn and wheat. When birds eat seeds, their gizzards pulverize the seeds. That is why bird poop is liquid! Dry dog food expands when it is soaked in water... ever heard of it exploding a dog? 2) Injecting air into someone's veins will not kill them. It won't give them a heart attack. | Just a guess would be a combination of habit (as the other answerer so far has said), and perhaps the extremely unlikely possibility that there will be a reprieve of some sort after the IV lines go in, but before the lethal injection is released. So they'd do the sterile-site thing so there'd be a decreased chance of the prisoner getting some blood-borne disease. It's very good question, though. The prison system will go to great lengths to keep a deathrow inmate alive so that s/he'll be healthy at the time of execution. That's justice, no?...(Answered by Ron C) | |

My son found a huge red & black ant at least 3 inches long and as big around as my ring finger! What is it? I thought they were called cow ants, but when I tried to look it up on the Highbeam encyclopedia online it only came up with ant cow;an amphid that makes honey ants eat. please help I know that this is an ant that if it bites it injects a high amount of poison that could be deadly.
