Why do so many people think it is mean to TEACH little kids as much as possible?
My son did very well in a Montesorri type environment where they were just cramming stuff in his little head as fast as he could take it in. Well dear, as much as the infant thing goes it is useless to cram stuff into their heads if they are not interested and if they are smart and kinda get the grasp of the subject then it is better to take them to the next level of learning. I was brought up in saudi arabia, when i was in the first grade they saw that i was getting a grasp of the subject of pretty good i wrote a double exam in that school and cleared i was promoted to the third grade without default. Are Montesorri schools worth it?
I am preparing to send my 3 year-old to preschool. In comparing prices, a Montesorri preschool is more than twice a private school would cost : $7500 versus $3500 for the school year. I have heard of studies where Montessori-educated students score 300-400 points higher on the ACT/SAT tests. Some cities have Montessori schools as a part of their public school system. Personally I do not feel that Maria Montessori intended for her schools to be strictly for the "elite" or more "affluent". The Montessori (hereafter referred to as M) method is unique in that children are encouraged to learn at their pace and about what interests them.
