An increasing number of parents dissatisfied with the education system are looking elsewhere for an approach that will suit their children's needs. In "Home Educating Our Autistic Spectrum Children", parents who have chosen to home educate their children with autism or Asperger's syndrome candidly relate their experiences: how they reached the decision to educate ...(Answered by shakti)

I need answers please!? I have homeschooled my 11 year old daughter up to now. She deseratly wanted to go to school this year, and against my better judgement, I allowed it. We were just starting to learn the times tables/division. Apparently, in school, they learned all that in 4th grade. So my daughter is way behind. I don't know what to do now. I am also afraid that they will call Social Services on me complaining of "neglect" of not teaching my child properly. I don't trust the school system!!!! Help! Should I take ... (Asked by zoe) |

| Semicolons in general bind two sentences more closely together, often with the intended purpose of showing that the two sentences are very closely linked together. In many ways, it can be seen as a conjunction like "and" or "but", and oftentimes, it serves as a "supercomma" as well. In your example, the correct answers are: 1b) 2c) 3a) It should be noted that in the examples 2 and 3, a comma can be used in place of the semicolon in the correct answer; however, to show the close association between bill's shopping and his finding the book he wanted in question 2; and ...(Answered by boingo) | |

| I have no idea of what you are talking about "competitive examination". Do you mean tutoring to help with graduation exams? In many places, it is the score on the graduation exams that lead to graduation, right? Rather than just a piece of paper saying you went to school? Actually, in the US there are several school districts who are considering dropping the age of compulsory attendance to 16, as many teenagers are capable of fulfilling all requirements by then and gaining admission into colleges of their choice. Instead, they are forced to pace their education to a certain number of ...(Answered by Melissa) | |

Homeschool Haters? I am very curious to know why there are those that hate homeschooling. Is it just the idea of doing something that goes against mainstream? Do you personally know of someone that was/is homeschooled that you feel has been damaged in some way? I understand feeling bad for a child thats parents keep them locked away in their house. Do you know of anyone like this? (I have heard rumors of this but have never seen any facts) But I also feel bad for the children that are in public school and are totally neglected ... | I feel that most people are followers rather than leaders...they are told what to do so they do it. That is exactly what the Public School system is for to make good little robots. There are those that don't like something that is different. Those that are more concerned with partying at school. Those that love public school because it's free babysitting etc. Like you said most are just "HATERS" without anything to back it up....(Answered by creative rae)

Looking for a chemistry curriculum, at an introductory high school level. Any recommendations? I'm in tenth grade. I've pretty much neglected my scientific education so far but have read a few books about physics and think that physics is really interesting. However, I don't know anything about elements or atoms other than that they exist, so I'm taking chemistry first. I'm using a program called CyberEd right now, normally it's a supplemental-type program used in schools but I got my paws on it. Thing is, I'm not learning anything. It's a 35-50 minute presentation, then you do some dragging and dropping, then you take a test. The presentation isn't working though- I need something printed to ... (Asked by thefilthycommie) |
