ADMISSION Each year 50 seats are available for admission to the graduate medical course, leading to the award of the degree of M.B.B.S. of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Out of these, 7 (seven) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes, 4 (four) seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes and 5 (five) seats are reserved for the Foreign Nationals nominated by the Government of India. The remaining 34(thirty four) seats are filled by the general candidates on the basis of a competitive examination. Can anyone suggest a good place to go for a medical elective (med students only)? I am a UK med student and my elective was in Nepal but that has been cancelled now as Nepal has some bad fighting going on. I need to find a good place to go that people have been to and can give me a contact for. And before anyone suggests it I already googled it and tried what I could find. You need to apply and get accepted first. Each university has a web address and will direct you there. Apply for acceptance into your favorite universitiies (the ones who can help you most with your chosen major). Most colleges and universities have an application fee- you may ask for that to be waived if you don't make much $$. Apply for scholarships. Do you have a counsellor at school? In the US, they help find scholarships for students? Speak to someone at the University when you are accepted. Ask for financial assistance when you apply for each college.
