I feel myself panicking! The college I chose is beautiful as is the small town it's located in but-? I've lived in a large, culturally diverse city all my life. The town I'm moving to is charming and very small, but I'm beginning to doubt I'm making the right decision. I think I'm just afraid of being alone, 1500 miles away, without my kids (they want to stay in the big city) for two years. Just the thought of the move fills me with dread, but I know that I must finish my education. Any suggestions in dealing with this? I'm going west, to Wyoming from Chicago. ... (Asked by kbenji33) |

| any big change in your life is going to be scary, especially one where you are sacrificing your life in the big city and being with your family to pursue your dreams. but don't be afraid, see it as an adventure, moving forward in your life. Wyoming is a wonderful place to study geology and it sounds great, you'll do fine in the smaller city, you might even like it better than Chicago! And the different perspective on life itself will be a learning experience. Good luck!...(Answered by ☺ Mathew ☺) | |

Should I drop the course if I keep having panic attacks? Yesterday, while at the begining of one of my classes, I abruptly left. There is only six people in the class, at best, so yes, I am sure my absence was noticed. I left without any explanation, because I was having a panic attack. I didn't tell my professor, and I don't think I should tell him now, but I am so embarrassed. But I have to go back tommorrow, because the professor will explain the major research project we have to do. But I don't think that I can go back there because I feel so embarrassed and I ... | I don't see the cause of the panic, and it doesn't look like you do either. Don't withdraw...make an appointment to speak to the professor, or go to office hours and tell him that you love the class, but something about it makes you uncomfortable, perhaps the small class size, or the pressure, etc. If he's a decent man he will hear you out, and perhaps offer a solution. Don't let irrational panic get a hold of you, or it will affect you again in the future....(Answered by Year of the Monkey)

Panicked about college. Please give me some advice.? How important is your choice of a college in your overall future success? I keep imagining myself going somewhere and getting a degree that means nothing. Then I start to panic at how I will waste, not only money, but 4 years of my young life. I am also too ambitious for my own good. I had a list of 20 colleges and painstakingly reduced it to 7. I forced myself to look at reality. I will never be accepted to somewhere like Yale among the other better-qualified 14,000 kids that apply there. I am also under a lot of ... (Asked by Trinity) |

| Ok, first, simply relax! I just graduated with my undergrad. . . and I can remember feeling just how you felt four years ago. Looking back on it, I realize that I was worried over nothing. You will be accepted where you belong. I know that sometimes people have their hearts set on a particular college or university. . . and they feel crushed when they don't get accepted. Having the opportunity to go to another school might be a blessing in disguise. This other school might be a better fit for you. . . who ...(Answered by hollybug_88) | |

| Oh, I get that every once in awhile. The last time I had it and remember it was when there was going to be a tornado. At age 9 I was scared half to death. Screaming and crying and in front of my best friend. When I look back at it I wonder why in the world was I so scared. I'm not so scared of tornados now. That was a weird panic attack. Panic attacks are when you are totally scared when you usually wouldn't be. It's something you can't explain or keep yourself from doing. I wish that I ...(Answered by Jackie McCain) | |

| I think you should know current issues in your field and be prepared to show your own understanding. Research your area thoroughly as well as the university. Also be prepared for the typical questions: why do you want to study politics? why do you want to study at this university? where do you see yourself in 5 years? what makes you an effective student? I think its also important that you speak clearly and slowly to show that you're an effective communicator. Again let your passion shine through be positive and remember to smile and make eye contact!...(Answered by Saira) | |

College admissions panic =(. It really is the end of the world.? I wonder if anyone feels the same. What is wrong with me? It seems like I've become completely obsessed with killing myself over the grades I had for Fresh, Sop. Junior year. There really isn't anything to be so proud about, I have high ambitions but I am my own biggest dissapointment. What if I don't even get accepted into State? | Hey, I think we're in the same boat. I'm going to be a senior, and my GPA is around a 3.4-3.5, but I go to this insanely tough school and all my friends have 4.0's or close. I also feel like I didn't work hard enough the last three years? But you know what? We both have to relax and stop beating ourselves up, because there's nothing we can do about it now. Exam Panic? I have a midterm tomorrow morning. Extenuating circumstances this weekend have led me to some last minute cramming. I figure at this point I have about three options: a) stay up all night cramming and sleep after the exam tomorrow b) stay up but only until 2 or 3 and sleep a few hours before. c) go to sleep now and wake up around 3 or 4 to finish cramming. I realize you're all going to tell me that I should have started studing earlier... I am well aware of that. I need some help and advice for RIGHT NOW. ... (Asked by deepwaters05) |

For me, I'd cram till early morning, about 3 AM - keep taking showers to stay awake. I know it's not good but that's the life of a procrastinator! Laura Bush has a Masters degree in library science. Is she in a panic about her husband's legacy? As a master librarian, isn't Laura Bush keenly aware of the near finality and permanence of what historians put down in books when it comes to a president's legacy? | As a librarian she must know what historians have to say about her husband will not be decided most likely in her life time. He firmly believes that when history looks at his achievements in office that he will be found to have been one of America's greatest Presidents. After all Lincoln was resoundly hated by a large part of the population (and I am not including the South in this who really didn't like him) at the time of his death who many thought he really had not been that great of a leader during America's ...(Answered by MikeInRI)
