First, identify exactly what skill you wish to reinforce/teach. Then tie the skill with the pictures; try to have a general theme for the day (i.e. Spring, Easter, Thanksgiving, Fall, Toys, Books, Flowers...) Sometimes the theme does not have to match every word, but IMO it would be better to do so if possible. I would structure the lesson similar to this: the sound (and picture) is demonstrated (along with whole-group suggestions for words that they can think of that use this sound? Charts, pictures, graphs and symbols are EXTREMELY important for children, especially at younger ages. Pictures help them make a mental connection with objects and words, and give them a better understanding of things. It has been proven that if pictures are on the wall of a small child's room, and the majority of his/her toys have to do with learning(i.e-flash cards, coloring books that have to do with numbers, and some sort of alphabet game) their speech will be much better....(Answered by cillaj)
