| I believe "she" is in reference to Lenore's soul, and "wretch" is in reference to the bird, the raven itself, because Poe states that it was "sent" by some angel or something. This is in refence to some higher being sending the bird, the Raven, which are often regarded as birds of omen, to the man....(Answered by I color outside the lines) | |

| First of all, it's not a story, it's a poem. Pallas was a Greek goddess, possibly a symbolic reference to Lenore. The Raven is symbolic of death and darkness, as are midnight and December (the last month of the year...the end).
