We did this and had a blast! You do the preparation and let the kids shake it themselves. I'll type out the instructions for you. 1 tablespoon Sugar 1/2 cup Milk or half & half 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla 6 tablespoons Rock salt 1 pint-size Ziploc plastic bag 1 gallon-size Ziploc plastic bag Ice cubes 1.Fill the large bag half full of ice, and add the rock salt. Seal the bag. 2. Put milk, vanilla, and sugar into the small bag, and seal it. 3. Place the small bag inside the large one and seal again carefully. 4. Every Thursday parents are invited to cook with my daughters kindergarten class. I have been reluctant to participate due to the fact that one of her classmates is severely allergic to nuts. He has been sent to the hospital many times this year due to contact with nut.reactions. They have asked that we do not even serve nuts or nut butter for breakfast before sending our children to school. We have even been asked to not use shampoo that might contain nut oils. While not technically "cooking," one fun thing that can be done with Kindergarten students is to show them how butter and yoghurt are made. For the butter, you can just bring in heavy cream, perhaps a bit of salt, and a beater, and have the children take turns beating until butter forms. If you use a hand mixer, more children will get to take turns. You could pause when it is in the "whipped cream" stage and they could taste that as well. English Muffin Pizza's are always a winner with kindergarten kids and they can put the pizzas together themselves (with supervision of course) All you need is English muffins, marinara sauce, shredded cheese, and pepperoni Have each of the children put a tablespoon of sauce on half an English muffin, sprinkle on a small amount of cheese and one or two slices of pepperoni. When I worked in childcare we used whip cream for snow that way the children could taste it and we didn't have to worry about them. We would put it on wax paper and let them go to town. It was a huge hit....(Answered by saludamom)
