I'm familiar with this dilemma. You can't afford to go to school but you can't afford not to either. The govt. ain't likely to help you. Unemployment benefits probably vary according to whichever state you call home but I would be very surprised if you could quit and collect unemployment no matter how noble your intentions. Perhaps your employer offers tuition reimbursement? If they don't go to them and make this suggestion. Unless you're in a very small company there are almost certainly others there who would return to school given the opportunity....(Answered by ligoneskiing)

Sorry so long! Hope this makes sense to you, if not you can always contact a financial aid counselor at the school you plan to go to! Your EFC # is what determines the amount of aid you'll be getting. 0 is a great number, the lower the #,the higher amount of money you get! Most likely your get a full pell grant, full amount of the need-based grant, and of course you'll be able to apply for loans. It depends. Like if your receiving a specific amount from another institution then of course you cannot use that money for another school. If you are receiving money from a place like (fro example) Big Al's Tires, then no it shouldn't (keyword) mess up your scholarship from the school. But if you want to get the best answer then you need to ask the school, because it's true that a lot a schools (and maybe even private schools) may not accept scholarships or money that's not their own. You need to find out the laws for your state. Some states leave it up to a judge to decide, while other states have a pre-set formula they go by, that is usually not changed by the judge except in special circumstances. Yes he can qualify for grants, but being a dependent still and a traditional student will make it very difficult given that he is a different type of student than you were. The family is expected to foot the bulk (if not all) the bill for students under age 23 (unless they're married, have children, served in the military - but that makes them non-traditional and independent). If you need help paying for his education, loans will probably be what is mostly used with some help from grants (like $400 or so) - there are also scholarship options ...(Answered by mx_hart)

Your question doesnt make sense.. You have to file fasfa every year.. If you didnt turn in your tax papers last year then when you refile the next following year.. they will see on record that you didnt send the tax info from the last year.. *If the semester is aleady over then no.. if you recieve financial aid during the semester.. then they will remburse the money you paid the begining of the semester.. but nothing for a semester that has already passed...(Answered by Grace)
