For Science Fiction: anything by Isaac Asimov (sp) "The Daughter of Is". Please read Leo Tolstoy, "Anna Karenina" and War and Peace". Dostoevsky "Crime and Punishment" (not really that great of a book, but it is expected that you should know it.) Nathanial Hawthorne, "The Scarlet Letter" for the English aurthors please also read anything you can get by Henry Fielding "Tom Jones", a truly excellent book. I bet your kids would love to make a computer video game. Check out game maker (I provide the link below). A free version is available but I would recommend the full version but is only $20 to register. With game maker you can create games using visual techniques and as you get more experienced you can add your own code snippets. The game maker site also has a lot of sample games that you can modify so you don't have to start from scratch, there is a book available, step by step getting started tutorial and lesson plans. I like Real Science 4 Real Kids. I have a BS degree in Biology/Chemistry and I prefer non-religious based Science texts. If you are looking for a Bible based Science curriculum this is not for you.
