This is a long one...22yr old w/ alot of problems...?
My parents were drug addicts & wouldn't ever acnoldge me, let alone admit there was anything "wrong" with me. Even though the teachers tried to tell them. I finally come to terms that I have "problems" & theres nothing wrong with that...How do I go about getting documintation of these things? reasoning is I want to prove to my parents & also, I havn't been able to ever hold a job for more then 2 months, so maybe get a govt. check so I can support myself. I can't hear outta one ear, I can't talk right no matter what ... (Asked by no1knowstherealme)

I'd start with a local community mental health agency. These are generally big counseling centers that set their fee's on a sliding scale. Meaning you pay as much as you can afford (sometimes free). I recommend this not b/c I think you are crazy but because of the resources and personel they usually have. You can get hooked up with a counselor, doctors and most importantly a social worker who can help you get started on medicaid and disability....(Answered by stargirl)

Talk to his teacher at school. Indicate that you think he may be dyslexic. The school provides tests for it. There are many forms of dyslexia. The inability to remember things is more related to the ADHD. When you give him an instruction, make him repeat it back to you before you have him do it. This will teach him to think about it and concentrate on it. After a couple months it will become habit for him to repeat what he was told to himself....(Answered by diane_b_33594)
