What residence hall should I live in?
I will be attending THE Ohio State University next fall and can't decide which hall to stay in. I'm going to be in the Honors program as an engineer. I am split between Honors housing and Steeb Hall (which has a program in it specifically for engineers). The choice comes down to Honors housing or Engineering housing. Please help me decide. ... Keeping residence in university?
In UK universities, is it a strict rule that you have to remain in residence at the university's town/city for a certain amount of time, or does this not matter as long as you're there enough to get taught for your degree? The Uni I went to had no rules about staying in the 'halls'. If you didn't want to stay in them at all, even in your first year then you didn't have to....(Answered by Here there and everywhere)

University of California's Statement of Legal Residence???? HELP?
I filled out the Statement to Intent to Register (SIR) and it went though, but when i did Statement of Legal Residence i think i might have done something wrong and now it says i am out of state (of California). does anyone know if i can change this? if i call the admissions will it easily be able to change? if i am out of state they charge 26k instead of 6k for instate. You probably have to go down to college admissions to change it. Also, double check with the financial aid office to make sure that you're being charged instate tuition rates....(Answered by sbuxlisa9)

It depends completly on the university housing system. Not all residence halls/dorm are alike in their guest policy. Some universities do not allow overnight guests at all. Others only allow overnight guests of the same sex as the host. At some universities you will have to fill out a request for a guest application sometime in advance while at others you just sign the guests in when they get there. Are non tenure-eligible faculty members eligible for permanent residence?
I am a senior lecturer at a major east-coast university. I hold a European Union passport. I have a 3-year (renewable) contract and my department and the Dean's office are willing to sponsor me for permanent residence. However, the university OISS claims that only tenure-eligible faculty members can be sponsored for permanent residence, and that in the last couple of years applications for non tenure-eligible candidates have been consistently turned down.
