A.
Yes, they really expect parents to send kids to school when there are restroom lock outs. Evidently, you didn't actually read the letter you got, because if you did, you'd know that when a school uses restroom lock outs, it's only during class. During passing periods, there is usually an adult posted in each restroom to watch the kids and make sure that they're not doing anything like painting threatening messages on the walls, selling drugs, or anything else that can cause harm to your child....(Answered by xx0_halo_0xx)

I had a similar problem. I met with the teacher, the principal, and finally the board. My children were allowed to use the restroom when they needed. One of the problems...I have two daughters. The male teacher kept asking the oldest one why she needed to go to the restroom. He and I had a chat and he stopped asking her. When the children's health is involved, I'm not allowing a teacher with petty concerns stand in the way....(Answered by blue)

My daughter has entered K at age 5 1/2 and is fooling around behind the teacher's back, getting in trouble in the restroom, cafeteria, in the afterschool play group and everywhere else. A.
Every school has different policies. Usually restrictions on restroom usage are designed for security and crime prevention. Someone else mentions sex, but schools are usually more concerned about things like drug deals and kids getting beat up in restrooms. Limiting the number that can use facilities at a given time also tends to keep trips to the restroom shorter. It means people are using the restroom rather than socializing when they leave the room. Finally, restroom passes give the teacher more control over the flow of students in and out of the classroom. Since ...(Answered by dmb)
