It means a revelation. It refers to the story in the book of Acts of the Apostles in the Bible when Saul (who came to be known as the apostle Paul), a notorious persecuter of Christians and a pious Jew, was confronted with Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus, on his way to hunt down more Christians. Jesus asked him why he was persecuting Him. After this revelation of Jesus, Saul (Paul) became the most prolific preacher in the early church....(Answered by hoff_mom)

The only poetry reference to california missions was in Francisco Alarcon Iguanas en la nieves (iguanas in the snow) Francisco Alarcon with his poem Mission Dolores. Seems very modern to me... Or, perhaps, Lawrence Ferlinghetti could fit... Good luck!...(Answered by boule de gomme)

Good deeds with get you to Heaven but good intentions that failed might not. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions" is used when a good person tries to do something good and then, if fails and the result is as worth as if the person had tried to do something bad....(Answered by Sallie W)

That is very much like the saying "Talk is cheap." Talking ABOUT doing something is a far cry from actually doing it. Likewise, good intentions are meaningless if not followed by corresponding actions....(Answered by BlueFeather)
