| This problem would best be solved using a ratio. Since 0.36 can be expressed as a percentage (36%), it can also be written as a fraction, which would be 36/100. 36 stands for the number of knights that wore new armor, and the 100 stands for the total number of knights. The second fraction would be 828/X. 828 is the number of knights who wore new armor, and X is the total number of knights. Your equation would be 36/100 times 828/X. When you cross-multiply, you end up the the equation: 36X=82800 X=2300. So, 2300 knights participated ...(Answered by bastets_kitten) | |
