| There is an application cd that has the format of the program and then there is one or two cds for each subject. You might ask her if she has it, once you install it you don't need it everytime. Good Luck...(Answered by micheletmoore) | |

Where can you get text books for homeschooling? I am homeschooling my kids due to how dangerous their school was getting. I felt better just to teach them from home. I have been using many websites and workbooks but I am looking for actual text books I can use. I have went to used book stores and places where they would normally have them and have had no luck. I am looking for used text books. I live in Nevada and my children are 12 and 14. I am looking for science, math, history, social studies etc ... (Asked by trobysmile@sbcglobal.net) |

| Well, it depends on where you live We get ours at Mardels, Borders, Barnes and Noble, public library used book sales, although we've also checked out books (like all of our saxon math books we've gotten through the library and just renew until finished) Local homeschooling groups nearly always have an annual booksale/exchange where each family has a table of stuff to pass on. Sometimes schools themselves have a used book lot, you might call and see if they have any that they're getting rid of. And at the very most expensive end of the spectrum is calling each curriculum place or going ...(Answered by ) | |

| I used to be in the same situation as you. I am now a happily homeschooled 6Th grader. I asked once, she said no. I asked again and again and again, etc. I told her that I knew, in the end, she would say yes, so she was just putting up a useless battle. I know I sound like a brat, but I was right. Just keep asking, and give her all the statistics that say homeschoolers do better on tests, etc. Go to the library, check out lots of books about homeschooling, read them, then ask her to read ...(Answered by Laffy Taffy) | |

What is it that teachers do when teaching? When people say that parents can't or shouldn't homeschool because they're not certified teachers, what is it specifically that they think teachers do to that uncertified people can't? Or what is it that they think teachers learn during certification that makes them able to teach? My memories of junior high and high school were mainly of teachers saying things that were already in our textbooks. My memories of elementary were of working from workbooks or textbooks, things just about any parent can help their child with, and spending time reading, writing book reports and writing creative stories. My teacher training and my ... (Asked by glurpy) |

| I'm a teacher, and I've found that my training just added a confidence and slightly difference approaches to handling issues in the classroom. Other than that, I don't think that having a college education in Education made a major change in how I approached teaching. Ultimately, in order to be a good teacher, you just have to go out there and teach. That's the only way you find out what works. I've also found out that repeating the material in several different ways helps reinforce the information and transfer it from short-term memory to long-term. That's why it's not ...(Answered by redcarol57) | |

Where can I find free homeschool curriculum? I plan to homeschool my children. Can anyone give me some good resources for free activity sheets, workbooks, learning games etc.? To clarify, this question is about WHERE other homeschooling parents get some of their free curriculum; not WHAT I should teach or WHETHER I should homeschool at all. (I've already decided what's best for my children, thankyou!) ... (Asked by sarahpali) |

| First of all I wanted to say, "Bravo" to your additional comments!! It drives me crazy when I see someone asking an honest question about homeschooling and people just get rude about it, even if it's something as simple as a misspelled word in their post (I had one of my old highschool teachers recently ask me how to spell a word, when we ran into each other at the local library. He says he always gets it confused). As for your question there are a lot of sites, just do a search of what you are ...(Answered by busymom4_2003) | |

| I don't think these have a name, and I've never run across them before. However, so long as you don't mind changing the format around, they look easy to create on the computer or anywhere, really. letter one: 3+4/2 letter two: 2x+3 = 51 (hint: that's the letter x, not a multiplication symbol) letter three: 1*(5-4) letter four: the next prime number after 11 letter five: add 3 to the answer to letter four letter six: 4+4*2 letter seven: this letter is congruent with letter one The answer is: letter one: 3+4/2 = 5 (remember BEDMAS order of opperations: brackets, exponents, divide, multiply, add, subtract) = e (e ...(Answered by fastfinge) | |
