Read it wrong ? Consider the sentence : I read it wrong. The intended meaning is clear that the subject read the incorrect thing ( or in other words read a thing incorrectly, say, reading 54 as 94) My question is, can read be used as a linking verb ( a verb that can be followed by an adjective that lets modify the object rather than modifying the verb always .. like in the sentence The flower smells sweet.) thanks for you input .. ... | Ah - perforated already implies that something has poked through something. So... My pen perforated my pocket. It is implied that the pen went through a hole in your pocket if you use the word perforated. You don't have to elaborate. Whats wrong with my pronouciation? Or everybodys ears? Hi my name is Zihao, when being asked to spell it, I said "Z", then they say "T?", then I said "No, its Z", then they seem to understand and say "Oh! E?" "I" has tiny problem I forgot what it is "H" has no problem because it sound unique "A"s no problem "O" is no problem So whats wrong? I say Z in BBC accent. Im Chinese. Thanks. | If you're using a BBC accent then I suggest you pronounce Z as Zed, not the Zee I presume you're using at present (which can sound like Tee or E)....(Answered by The Jade Merchant) | |

| Because "Wrong" is spelled w-r-o-n-g, therefore it is spelled wrong (w-r-o-n-g). You could use the same joke for ANY word...it just wouldn't be as "funny." It's a lame joke to start with. ;)...(Answered by jcurrieii) | |

| When he first falls (fell) in love with Daisy, he knew that his social status was standing in his path of success I think probably just that word falls is kind of out of time in the sentnce falls sound more of a now than remembering when he actually fell in love with Daisy.
